Purpose:
To provide strategic and operational leadership to AHEAD International, ensuring effective delivery of programmes, regulatory compliance, and organisational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide overall strategic leadership and direction in line with AHEAD International’s charitable objectives.
● Oversee organisational operations in the UK and international programmes, including Sierra Leone.
● Lead and manage senior staff, ensuring effective performance management and staff development.
● Ensure compliance with UK charity law, safeguarding standards, and Home Office sponsor duties.
● Oversee financial sustainability, budgets, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
● Represent AHEAD International to funders, regulators, partners, and external stakeholders.
● Lead organisational risk management and governance processes.
Person Specification – Essential Qualifications and Experience
● Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior-level experience in Charity Management, International Development, Public Health, Social Policy, or a related field.
● Minimum 7 years’ senior leadership experience within the charity, public, or voluntary sector, including strategic planning and organisational leadership.
● Proven experience of managing multi-country or international programmes, including oversight of staff and operations.
● Demonstrable experience of financial oversight, budgeting, and working with Boards of Trustees.
● Experience of partnership development and stakeholder engagement at senior level.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
● Strong understanding of UK charity law, governance, safeguarding, and compliance requirements.
● Eligibility to work in the UK and meet Home Office requirements for sponsored skilled roles.
