Key responsibilities
The volunteer will support Action for Health, Education and Disability (AHEAD) International community education/learning programme for young people by assisting staff during planned outreach visits, helping young people take part in
group activities and basic learning sessions, encouraging safe participation, and providing routine practical support under direct staff supervision in community Settings. The volunteer will be undertaking community education fieldwork which
contributes directly to the achievement or advancement of the sponsor charitable purpose.
Person Specification – Essential Qualifications and Experience
● Minimum of secondary education or equivalent; education, youth work, or social care background is an advantage.
● Interest in education, learning support, or community development.
● Willingness to support young people in group learning and outreach activities.
● Ability to work cooperatively with staff and other volunteers under supervision.
● Good communication skills in English.
● Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive participation.
● Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn.
AHEAD International engages volunteers to support its charitable activities. All voluntary roles are unpaid. No salary or remuneration is provided in line with section 44 of the UK National Minimum Wage Act; reasonable out-of-pocket expenses only. The volunteer will not be filling a permanent position and will not be involved in routine back office administrative roles, retail or other sales roles, fund-raising roles and roles involved in the maintenance of the charity office and other assets.
